For students holding a Bachelor's degree obtained in ITALY

Graduates in Industrial Design (Class L-4) and those holding an equivalent qualification may be admitted directly to the Master's Degree Program in Design Sistema Moda (Fashion System Design).

For degrees belonging to different classes, the curricular requirements consist of a total of 30 CFU acquired in the disciplinary sector CEAR-08/D (ICAR/13).

Any academic deficiencies must be completed before enrollment can be finalized.

The Teaching Committee evaluates the academic background and assigns any required curricular integrations (academic deficiencies), which must be completed before enrollment in the Master's Degree Program.

The same procedure applies to degrees obtained from ISIA institutes, Academies of Fine Arts, or other recognized institutions.

If the final degree grade is below 95/110, the Teaching Committee conducts an interview and portfolio assessment to verify the applicant's personal preparation.

The Committee's decision is final and not subject to appeal.

For students holding a Bachelor's degree obtained ABROAD

Graduates in design-related disciplines holding a degree from a foreign university may be admitted to the Master's Degree Program.

If you are a non-EU or EU citizen holding a bachelor's degree obtained outside Italy and wish to apply for admission to master's programs offered by the University of Florence, please use the DreamApply portal.

Language requirements

The B2-level certification must already be obtained at the time of the request for authorization (nulla osta).

For native Italian-speaking students, admission to the program is subject to B2-level proficiency in at least one European Union language (English, French, German, Spanish, or Portuguese), which:

• If the certification was obtained from an Italian public institution, must be self-certified when submitting the evaluation application. Consult the list of certification bodies recognized by the Ministry (external link);
• If the certification was obtained from private or non-Italian institutions, it must be demonstrated by attaching the relevant certificates to the evaluation application.

For students whose native language is not Italian, B2-level proficiency in Italian is required, which:

• If the certification was obtained from an Italian public institution, must be self-certified when submitting the evaluation application;
• If the certification was obtained from private or non-Italian institutions, it must be demonstrated by attaching the relevant certificates to the evaluation application.

Please note that for non-native Italian-speaking students, authorization for enrollment (nulla osta) cannot be issued without proof of B2-level proficiency in Italian.

Exceptions include:

• Non-EU students residing abroad who require an entry visa (i.e., users of the International Desk), for whom a conditional authorization may be issued subject to obtaining Italian language proficiency; otherwise, they will not receive a study visa. Enrollment for this category of students is in any case subject either to passing the Italian language proficiency test on the date established annually by the Ministry of University and Research (MIUR) or to submitting to the International Desk a B2-level Italian language certification issued within the CLIQ quality system;
• Students participating in specific ministerial programs, for whom the applicable regulations apply.

How to enroll

To enroll, you must:

1. Register for the University's online services → See instructions on the School's website;
2. Download the authorization (nulla osta) from the School's website and follow the instructions on the SOL portal.

There are no deadlines for submitting the evaluation application other than those necessary to ensure the issuance of the authorization (nulla osta) required for enrollment.
