To begin the internship, all steps of the procedure must be completed.
DO NOT start the internship if:
– the training project has not yet been signed by the tutors
– you have not received confirmation of activation
Before these steps are completed, insurance coverage is not active and the hours completed will not be recognised.
In summary, the procedure includes:
The Master’s Degree Course in Fashion System Design requires that the curricular internship activity (12 CFU – 300 hours) be carried out at companies, public or private institutions, professional studios, and DidaLabs laboratories.
Before starting the internship, the trainee must complete the General Workplace Safety Training Course (MEDIUM RISK: 4 hours of General Training + 8 hours of Specific Training), as required by Legislative Decree 81/2008.
NOTE: Before requesting matching from the Internship Office, the student must contact the company or laboratory directly to verify its availability to host them as an intern.

The 3 CFU credits are obtained by completing the annex and attaching the required certification
(certificate or attestation issued by the provider – in the case of workshops, seminars, or design ateliers coordinated by the Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Courses in Design and by the course coordinator, certifying at least 75 hours of learning activity and signed by the responsible person, including IT skills).
NOTES:
Annex 1 and the certificates for CFU recognition can be submitted once the student has obtained all 3 CFU.
The Master’s Degree Course in Fashion System Design has decided that all internship credits may be recognised exclusively through university workshops. Students must therefore submit a single request for recognition of workshop activities, submitting all certificates they have only once.
All certificates together with Annex 1.B for the recognition of CFU through workshops/conferences must be sent as a single PDF file by email to the Academic Office at: segr@design.unifi.it
Note: incomplete applications or applications submitted at different times will not be considered.
The internship may be recognised as work activity by completing Annex 2 and attaching a report describing the work carried out, showing its relevance to the degree programme objectives.
Full internship: 300 hours / 12 CFU
Partial internship: 225 hours / 9 CFU + 3 CFU for “other activities”
For the evaluation of work activity, send an email to the internship coordinator (francesca.filippi@unifi.it) with the subject “EQUIVALENCE”, attaching the WORK ACTIVITY REPORT (see documents) in PDF format, signed and stamped by the employer. A response will be provided within 30 days.

The Teaching Committee will issue an opinion within 30 days of the submission of COMPLETE documentation.
Applicants will be contacted ONLY in the case of an incomplete application or a negative outcome.
The School of Architecture and the Degree Programme have resolved that:
The internship CANNOT be carried out at a professional studio where there is a family relationship with the student;
The internship CANNOT be carried out at the professional studio of the student’s thesis supervisor;
The internship CAN be carried out at one of the DidaLabs laboratories, where the Laboratory Director MAY also be the student’s thesis supervisor.
In the case of recognition of work activity (Annex 2), it must be consistent with the study plan, continuous over time, significantly exceed the minimum of 300/225 hours (depending on the credits to be obtained, 12 or 9 CFU), be documented by a descriptive dossier, and fall within the contract or assignment signed by the employer.
